According to locals, the Kauai police force makes occasional sweeps through the Napali Coast and into Kalalau Valley to uproot the many squatters who have traded lives of indoor plumbing for a leafier style of decor. The mountainous ridges above the valley offer a spectacular view of this prime real estate but a closer view of the coastline's secluded beaches forces travelers to similarly ditch modern conveniences and hoof their way in on foot (there aren't any roads). However, the deck of a catamaran may offer the best view of all.
